Two people have been arrested, a third cited, after police responded to a shots fired call over the weekend.

Officers were called to the 1900 block of S. 5th Street shortly after midnight on Saturday. When they got on scene, they found two men and a woman in a parked car. After searching the vehicle, they found a loaded firearm. All three were placed in custody.

One of the men, Aldridge Nolan, Jr., 20, of Rockford, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and no FOID card. Police learned that the woman, Aurelious Friar, 18, of Rockford, was wanted on a failure to appear warrant. Officers also found marijuana on her, leading to an additional charge of possession of cannabis.

The second man, a 20-year-old, was released with an undisclosed citation.
