Former artistic director for Rockford Dance Company arrested for indecent exposure
ROCKFORD - UPDATED: A Rockford man has been charged with exposing himself to parishioners at a church.
On February 28th and again on March 17th, Waylan Anderson, 41, exposed himself to parishioners and staff at St. Mary's Church, 517 Elm Street. Two of the victims were minors.
Detectives from the Sensitive Crimes Unit identified Anderson as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
On Friday, March 23rd, shortly after 1:30 p.m. officers located Anderson shortly after he entered St. Mary's Church. He was taken into custody without indicent.
Anderson is charged with Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Sexual Exploitation of a Child under 13, and 3 counts of Criminal Trespass to Property.
Anderson was a former artistic director for the Rockford Dance Company.
