A Beloit man is arrested for hiding the corpse of Nakiela A. Thompson, 27, a Milwaukee woman who was found dead at the Road Ranger truck stop in South Beloit in early November.

Marco A. Rodriguez, 50, of Beloit, was interviewed by Winnebago County Sheriff’s deputies on Thursday. During that interview, he told authorities Thompson died at an address on Huebbe Parkway in the Town of Beloit, but that he did not kill her. He admitted to moving her from that address and disposing her body at the truck stop on Gardner Street in South Beloit.

Rodriguez is charged with hiding a corpse.

Due to the death allegedly happening in Beloit, the Rock County Sheriff’s Department has now taken over the investigation. They, along with Beloit Police, executed two search warrants at two different Beloit locations on Thursday.

Thompson’s cause of death remains undetermined. Autopsy results are pending.
