A man, wanted in connection to a Rockford murder, has been arrested in Georgia.
Dashon Ward was identified by Rockford detectives as the person behind a January 3rd murder in the 1100 block of Chestnut Street. Ward was located in Columbus, Georgia, on Friday and placed under arrest.
Police say he was the man who shot and killed Jason Depena, 27, of Belvidere.
Ward now faces a First Degree Murder charge as well as a Armed Habitual Criminal charge. He’s being held in Georgia, pending extradition back to Winnebago County.
