Man asks for money in McDonald’s drive-thru, says driver pulled out a gun

Rockford, Ill. — A Rockford man is arrested after police say he pulled out a handgun on a man asking for money.

On Monday, May 27, shortly after midnight, Rockford Police officers responded to the McDonald’s on East State Street and North Longwood.

A 37-year-old man said he walked up to a vehicle in the drive-thru and asked for money.  The man says the driver pulled out a gun, and he ran away.

Officers located the suspect vehicle in the drive-thru.  22-year-old Gavon Gore, was taken into custody without incident, and a handgun was recovered from the vehicle.

Gore is charged with aggravated unlawful use of weapons and no FOID.
