A man who pulled a knife on another man in Rockford Wednesday night has died.
Police say it started with an altercation between the two men in the 3000 block of Auburn Street shortly after 11 p.m. Officers learned that during a fight, a 22-year-old man was cut in the face by the other subject, a 52-year-old man. The 22-year-old then beat the 52-year-old. They were both hospitalized.
Hours later, the 52-year-old was pronounced dead. Police say they are treating it as a “suspicious death.” The official cause of death has not been determined.
An investigation is ongoing.
