The Rockford man, who was one of the last people to see a murdered two year-old Kyrian Knox alive, appeared in court for a different case on Wednesday.
Kamel Harris, 41, pleaded Not Guilty to Aggravated Battery of a Government Employee. He’s accused of shoving a Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) worker who was investigating the well-being of his baby. The child was found safe earlier this month.
Harris remains under investigation in the case of two year-old Kyrian Knox, whose dismembered body was found in a Chicago lagoon last year.
He’s due to back in court in two weeks.
