A man is recovering after being stabbed during a robbery attempt in Rockford Wednesday night.
The victim’s injuries are described as non-life-threatening. The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 300 block of 4th Street. The victim said he was walking when he was approached by a man who pulled out a knife resembling a box cutter.
The suspect demanded the victim’s money, but he refused. That led to a fight and the victim being slashed by the box cutter. He managed to run away, getting himself to a local hospital.
Nothing was taken from the victim. No arrests have been made.
The suspect is described as a black male with braids, 5’8” and 200 pounds. He was wearing a Green Bay Packers stocking cap, blue jeans and a black jacket at the time of the attempted robbery.
