Janesville Police say they pulled the body of a man from the Rock River on Monday afternoon.

At approximately 2:15 p.m., police say they were sent to the area of the Centerway Street Bridge where a citizen reported seeing a possible body in the river.

The body of a man, about 65 years of age or older, was recovered from the river by the dam, about 20 feet from the shore.

Police say the man’s identity is known and will be released later by the Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.
