Celebrated actress Margot Robbie will take on the role of the world’s most famous doll in an upcoming, live-action adventure.
Warner Bros. and Mattel officially announced casting of the 28-year-old Robbie in the title roll of “Barbie,” America’s most beloved doll.
The long-gestating project has been in limbo for some time, with Amy Schumer and Anne Hathaway both attached to the title role at some point in recent years.
The film is said to revolve around Barbie getting kicked out of Barbieland for not being “perfect enough,” which leads her to embark on an adventure in the real world.
No release date has been set for the film as of yet.
