The Centers for Disease Control and Preventions is reporting more than 300 cases of the measles this year.
The agency says 314 cases of measles have been reported across the U.S. since January 1st. That’s 46 more cases than the number reported last week.
Measles has been reported in 15 states. Two of the larger outbreaks are in Washington and New York.
The New York outbreak started after an unvaccinated resident became infected abroad.
The disease was eliminated in the U.S. in 2000, but is common in many other countries, which is how the current outbreaks started.
