A Rockford non-profit tops $1 million in grants given to local organizations.
The Mill Foundation handed out nearly $100,000 this year in grant money to organizations that help local, disadvantaged youth and their families. The Foundation’s Board Chairman says we can make the community better by investing and educating at-risk kids.
“These are the people who are going to some day be running the community and someday be responsible for what this community looks like,” said Chairman David Cyrs. “It’s just paramount in my mind and in my heart that we doing everything that we can to support them.”
Some of those given grants Thursday include Boy Scouts of America, the Boys & Girls Club of Rockford, and Winnebago County CASA.
