Multiple reported shootings keep Rockford Police busy over cold weekend

Rockford Police were kept busy as multiple reports of shootings in the city over the weekend.

On Saturday morning, at around 3:45 a.m., officers were called to the 900 block of 17th Street for a shooting call. There, they found a building and a car that had been struck by gunfire, but no one was hurt.

At 8 p.m. Saturday, police were called to the 2300 block of Jonathon Avenue for another report of gunfire. Officers found a vehicle and a garage that had been hit by bullets, but no one was hurt.

Then, shortly after 8 p.m on Sunday, the ShotSpotter detection system sent officers to the 400 block of North Horsman Street, where responding officers found two vehicles that were struck by gunfire. No one was hurt, but witnesses described seeing a silver sedan in the area.
