ROCKFORD (WTVO) – A national aid organization makes a stop in Rockford to help those in need.

The Aid To Humanity, put on by the Felix Y. Manalo Foundation, took over the Church of Christ’s parking lot on the city’s West Side. The charity had eight events in eight other cities across the US, in places where the residents have a higher chance of suffering from poverty.

The event gave away back packs, health screenings, and winter clothes to anyone that attended. The Manalo Foundation also donates money to local organizations that strives to help people in their own community.

“[Helps people] get out of a really troubled filled neighborhood, They have the intellect, they have the will they have the desire and they just need that little bit of help, and there’s agencies that are really working to connect them to an advancement in life”, Spokes Person for the Felix Y. Manalo Foundation, Bob Pellien said.

Rockford is the last stop on the foundation’s nation wide tour. While here, the group donated to 10 local organizations in the Rockford area.

Organizations donated to include:

Rockford Rescue Mission
