Volunteers read to animals during fireworks show

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) – Volunteers spent their 4th of July reading to the animals at the Escambia County Animal Shelter in Pensacola. This was the first year for Tales for Tails.

The event encouraged volunteers to read to the animals in order to comfort them from the loud fireworks during the night.

72 adult volunteers participated in the event.
