National Watermelon Day is today, August 3rd


ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Saturday, August 3rd is also known as National Watermelon Day.

WebMD explained how this fruit is not only delicious, but extremely healthy for the human body.

One example is the amount of lycopene, which is an antioxidant, in watermelon may make it less likely to get sunburned. 

Just one serving of watermelon gives you more than 30% of the vitamin A you need each day, according to WebMD.
