The body pulled from the Rock River near the Rockford airport on Monday has been identified as a local homeless man.

He is Randy Wilder, 58, of the Rockford area.  According to the Winnebago  County Coroner’s office, no foul play is suspected in Wilder’s death.

After a lengthy recovery process Monday, which included the recovery boat capsizing, Wilder’s body was recovered from the river and taken downtown for identification purposes.

An autopsy was done Tuesday afternoon. Further testing was required to identify Wilder. Those results were released Thursday morning from the coroner’s office.
