No one under 18 allowed to visit hospitals, due to flu concerns

The flu is so bad across the stateline right now that local hospitals aren’t letting anyone under the age of 18 visit.

Usually, cases of the flu go down in March, but the Winnebago County Health Department says cases are actually increasing.

Until further notice, Saint Anthony, Mercyhealth, SwedishAmerican, the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and Crusader Community Health are restricting visitors.

Staff who haven’t been vaccinated will be required to wear a mask.
