No Special Prosecutor For Ridulph Murder Case

A DeKalb County judge denied a request Friday for a special prosecutor to review the 1957 murder of Maria Ridulph.

This comes after the State’s Attorney dropped the charges against Jack McCullough earlier this year.  The judge ruled Richard Schmack had no conflict of interest in the case.

Ridulph’s brother, Charles Ridulph, argued Schmack promised during his 2012 campaign for State’s Attorney that he would free McCullough if elected.

McCullough served four years in prison before being cleared.  He’s since moved back to Washington state.
