The Northern Illinois Food Bank brought out their mobile pantry truck on Thursday, in an effort to feed the needy across the Rockford community.
The Food Bank partnered with Rosecrance to host their third mobile pantry event of the year.
Rosecrance clients and community members were invited to the Rosecrance Ware Center, at 2704 N Main Street, to enjoy healthy and nutritious foods. Meals were available to 300 families on a first-come, first-served basis.
“Across our service area, there are a lot of folks who need a little help providing for their families,” said Jeannine Kannegiesser, Development Officer for the Nothern Illinois Food Bank. “The mobile pantry’s one way that we’re able to address that need.”
In 2017, the Food Bank held more than 400 mobile pantry distributions and provided more than 40,000 meals.
