Now under Six Flags management, Magic Waters is hosting open hiring events during March to fill 400 positions.
“Just be yourself. Don’t come in thinking like ‘oh my gosh what if I don’t get this job.’ Just come in and be the best you can be and that’s all we ask for.” Said Austin Buss, a returning Team Member.
Buss knows all about how to succeed at the Magic Waters interview, since 17 he’s worked at the park and is now looking for new faces.
“I didn’t know anybody when I started here and it allowed me to get a group of friends and constantly build relationships over the years and continue to meet so many different people in our Rockford area.” Said Buss
Because Six Flags is now in control over Magic Waters (the Rockford Park District still owns the park), the staff is looking to fill 400 job openings and not all of them require a bathing suit.
“Currently we’re hiring for Guest Relations, lifeguards, water attendants, we’re looking for some finance and loss prevention and IT. We’re hiring some seasonal maintenice team members.” Said Hope Edwards the General Manager for Magic Waters.
And a long resume isn’t needed to apply. Working at Magic Waters was one of Hope Edwards’ first jobs. She’s now the one in charge and hopes these open hiring events can bring out great candidates.
“Go to 6flags.com, if you missed out on the opportunity today. You can still come out on March 23rd from 11am until 3pm. We’re going to be hosting our next event at Giovanni’s so right down the street and we’re also going to be hosting another one on March 30th right back here at Tebaula.” Said Edwards.
According to Buss, this is the one skill you’ll need to survive the summer heat, if hired, “probably a good amount of stamina. There’s a lot of running around, you’re standing in the sun. “
You can apply ahead of time online or in-person at the next event on March 23rd.
One of the new perks for employees includes having a season pass to both Magic Waters and Great America in Gurnee.
