Number of fire calls down this year

Rockford, Ill. – The City of Rockford is releasing the fire departments year to date numbers.  From January to November of 2018 the number of fire calls are down but EMS search and rescue calls are up.  The department did hit its goal of saving 90% of property values from fires but it didn’t hit its goal of answering 90% of 911 calls in less than 10 seconds.

Fire Calls:  Down 2%

2017 – 696

2018 – 679

EMS Search and Rescue:  Up 3%

2017 – 20,535

2018 – 21,079

Total Calls:  Up 4%

2017 – 26,048

2018 – 26,892

911 Calls Answered in less than 10 seconds

Goal:  90%

2018 – 82%

Percentage of property value saved from structure fire

Goal:  90%

2018: 90%
