34-year-old Joshua Denning, of Oregon, was killed Monday after crashing and flipping an SUV on Rt. 64. Another man, 44-year-old Jason Marks, also of Oregon, fled the scene and was later arrested.

According to police, around 1 a.m., an Ogle County Deputy first spotted an SUV speeding eastbound on Rt. 64 between Oregon and Mt. Morris.

The Deputy turned to pursue the vehicle and found it crashed in the 1700 block of West Washington Street.

Denning was found laying outside the vehicle, which had flipped over several times. He was taken to KSB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Marks, who was also in the vehicle, allegedly fled the scene of the accident on foot. Around 4:30 a.m, Oregon Police were called to the area of 5th and Franklin for the report of an unconscious male lying in the yard.

Marks was taken to a Rockford hospital for a medical evaluation. He was later arrested by the Mt. Morris Police Department.

Oregon Police say Marks was charged with Burglary from a Motor Vehicle for an incident that occured on January 8th, 2019 in the 300 block of North 4th Street in Oregon.
