OSF and Boone County first responders announced a new partnership Tuesday they say will make the county a safer place.
St. Anthony will provide medical personnel and training to Belvidere police, fire, and the Boone County Sheriff’s Departments. Officials say it’ll allow better treatment on scenes, rather than having to transport victims elsewhere. Emergency officials say it’s all about saving lives.
“This is getting ahead of that so that if it does and when it does [happen], we’re prepared. And hopefully there’ll be a good outcome instead of a bad outcome,” says Dr. W. Steven Minore of OSF St. Anthony.
The partnership is a first of its kind program in the area.
