OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center showed off the progress it’s making on a big expansion.
The $85 million project boasts more than 144,000 sq. ft. It’ll include new private rooms that’ll be used for treatment and surgeries. OSF has made a model room available to the public. Officials say the feedback they’ve received has been very helpful.
“We’ve made modifications off of the original prototype that was all nurse driven and physician driven,” said Nicole Buhler, Nursing Informatics Specialist for OSF. “We even have a patient and family council and I was able to bring patients through here and have them look at the room and make modifications, adjust it off of them.”
The expansion is scheduled to be complete by January 2018. After it’s up and running, OSF hopes to converts all the rooms in the existing hospital into private rooms as well.
