The Occupational Health and Safety Association (OSHA) has opened an investigation into the scaffolding collapse that occurred at the Amerock construction site earlier this month.

On March 5th, high winds caused the nine-story scaffolding to collapse. No one was injured.

The subject of OSHA’s investigation is the subcontractor for the renovation, and the property owner, Gorman & Company.

The investigation team has been to the site and collected interviews. The investigative process can take up to six months.

The Amerock Hotel and Convention Center is the centerpiece of a $112 million downtown Rockford redevelopment, which will see the historic Amerock Building converted into a four-star hotel and convention center.
