A manufacturing company that has been in Winnebago County for over 20 years is expanding.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday for Pacific Bearing Company in Roscoe.
Pacific Bearing is a global leader in linear motion systems and machine parts.
Local leaders say a $10 million expansion will help keep jobs in Illinois while adding about 30 more. The international company says they chose to expand in Roscoe because of the opportunities for employees, and benefits from the location.
“There’s a very talented work pool of people that we can pull from in the Rockford area, up into [the] Beloit, Janesville area,” said Jonathan Schroeder, a member of the Pacific Bearing Company board. “It’s a great location, being right on I-90 and [it] makes it an event commute from the Western Suburbs of Chicago.”
The company’s goal is for the building, located off of Rockton Road, to be completed in late Fall or early Winter of this year.
