Police investigate two shootings that took place Thursday afternoon.
The first happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. in the 900 block of E. State Street. A victim at the intersection of E. State and 6th Street says they were in their car when a white Chevrolet Impala pulled up and began shooting. The victim’s vehicle was hit twice, but no one was hurt.
The Chevy then fled southbound on 6th. No arrests have been made.
Then, about 10 minutes later, more shots were fired in the 500 block of Fisher Avenue. Rockford Police located shell casings in the roadway when they showed up. No one was reported hurt and there was no damage to property.
A suspect was located and is being questioned by police in the Fisher incident. It’s unclear at this point if these shootings were at all related.
