Police Looking for Three Men Charged in Three Different Rockford Murders

The Winnebago County State’s Attorney announced Thursday murder charges against three men for three different homicide cases dating back to 2015, including a fatal shooting at the Cliffbreakers hotel.

Sean Burks, 32, Geoffrey Brown, 38, and William Laboy Fontanez, 31, are all charged with several counts of first degree murder. All three men remain at large.

Burks is charged for the January 2017 fatal shooting of Joshua Jamerson on New Year’s Day at Cliffbreakers. A fight led to the shooting, where three others were also shot but survived. Burks faces 32 counts of first degree murder.

Brown is charged for the May 2016 shooting in the 1000 block of 15th Avenue where James Tomlinson was killed. A second victim was also shot but survived. Brown faces 17 counts of first degree murder.

Finally, Fontanez is charged in a fatal stabbing dating back to May 2015 where 19-year-old Alonzo Garuno was killed. Fontanez faces four counts of first degree murder.
