Police are reminding the public of the dangers of leaving cars running unattended.

During the winter months, many people start their cars and leave them to warm up. Already this week, police have received reports of running cars being stolen. They say criminals target those cars this time of year.

Police add that it is illegal to leave a car unattended in the street, and could result in a citation.
