Poplar Grove man arrested on narcotics charges


A 23-year-old Poplar Grove man has been arrested for drug trafficking after a six month investigation by Boone County police.

Police say Cesar Fournier was charged with three counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.

Fournier was taken into custody during a traffic stop on Thursday, September 27th, with the help of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

Following his arrest, multiple police agencies including those from Rockford and Boone County conducted a search of Fournier’s residence in the 100 block of Cornwall Circle in Poplar Grove, where they found cocaine, a firearm, and US currency.

Fournier is being held in the Boone County Jail on a $150,000 bond.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.
