As people go out in droves to buy lottery tickets for Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing, the estimated grand prize has now increased to $1.5 billion.
That’s the largest, single prize lottery jackpot in world history.
The odds aren’t ideal of winning at 1 in 292,201,338, and while no one was a jackpot winner for Saturday’s drawing, 15 players in Illinois matched four of the five numbers to win $50,000. More than 633,000 prizes ranging from $4 to $50,000 were won in Illinois during Saturday’s drawing.
The cash value of Wednesday night’s jackpot currently sits at $930 million.
