Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker took an inside look at the new Department of Children and Family Services training center in Chicago on Monday.
The simulation facility is part of a new training program for case workers and investigators.
The center will simulate real-world experiences that workers could encounter on the job.
The governor says the center is part of his continued commitment to protect children in the state’s care.
“This is one of the biggest challenges governors around the nation face,” Pritzker said. “Their Department of Children and Family Services are at the front lines of caring for the most at-risk of the most at-risk of our nation.”
The center will be modeled after an existing program in Springfield, and training is set to begin on Tuesday.
