Propane blast kills one firefighter, injures six

FARMINGTON, Maine (WTVO) — A firefighter is killed and six others are hurt when propane gas explodes.

The explosion was so powerful it was felt in a neighboring town.

Firefighters were called to a building after someone smelled gas in the area.

As crews were investigating the building exploded.

Fire Captain Michael bell was killed in the blast.

Five of the others hurt are in serious condition.

Another man has been released from a hospital.

Maine’s State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the explosion.
