A Winnebago County Judge sentenced Aaron Leach to 40 years for raping a woman during a home invasion in 2014.

On October 21st, 2014, Leach (30) and another man broke into a state-owned residence that was operated by the Goldie B. Floberg Center. Both were armed with bludgeons, and they ransacked the residence and demanded everything of value from the victims.

Two developmentally disabled boys lived at the residence at the time, who were not hurt. But, Leach forced one of the group home’s female employees into a bathroom and sexually assaulted her.

DNA testing from the victim’s clothing later identified Leach as her assailant.

In addition to his 40 year sentence, Leach will be on Mandatory Supervised Release and will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
