Dozens of motorcyclists gathered outside Concordia Lanes, Sunday morning, ahead of the 11th annual Brandon Ramey Memorial Ride.

The marine lance corporal died in 2004 during an IED explosion in Iraq. Since then, his family has organized the event to fund four scholarships in Ramey’s name for the two Belvidere high schools.

Ramey’s brother said, Sunday that he’s always wowed by the support.

“Every year our numbers keep growing and we have more and more turnout so it’s great to have the community come together and even have people from other communities coming and supporting such a great event,” said Bryce Trevino, Ramey’s Brother.

Over the past 10 years, Ramey’s family has given away 55-thousand dollars in scholarship money for students.
