ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — RMTD will begin service to the Javon Bea Mercyhealth Hospital on Riverside and Costco, beginning Monday, September 23rd.
The #16 City Loop North will stop at the hospital’s Interstate Blvd entrance on the hour.
The #17 City Loop South route will stop at the same location at 15 minutes after each hour. This service will run Monday thru Friday from 6:00 am until 6:00 pm and from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm Saturday.
There will be no service to the hospital on Sundays and evenings at this time.
The North and South Loop will also serve Interstate Blvd North of Riverside for Costco and the other businesses along this corridor.
Other changes implemented by the Rockford Mass Transit District on Monday include:
- The service area North of Riverside, including River Bluff Nursing home, Juvenile Detention Center and North Rock Industrial Park will no longer be on the #17 City Loop route. This corridor will once again be on the #4 N. Main Route and will run as it did prior to the North Main construction project.
- The City Loop South Route will continue to serve both bus stops on the Rock Valley Campus while the City Loop North Route will only service the Spring Brook entrance stop.
- City Loop South will no longer run on Mulford from Executive Parkway to Vantage. It will run on Garrett instead. City Loop North will remain unchanged in this same corridor.
RMTD says the changes are in response to community, rider and opertator feedback.
