The Rock River at Latham Park is expected to remain within the Moderate Flood Stage through at least Sunday (14 October 2018) Afternoon.

As of 11:30 AM CDT, the Rock River at Latham Park registered a water height of 13.2 feet, which places it within the Moderate Flood Stage. However; the Rock River at Latham Park will continue to rise as we go through the remainder of the weekend. In fact, the Rock River at Latham Park will crest on Monday Afternoon at a height of 13.5 feet, which is just a half foot below the threshold for Major Flood Stage.

Since records have been kept, the Rock River has only reached above 13.0 feet two times: 13.5 feet on 26 March 1975, and 14.30 feet on 18 June 2008. With the current water height, the Rock River at Latham Park ranks as the 3rd highest water height, but the river has yet to crest. With the current forecast, it is entirely possible that the expected crest on Monday Afternoon will be a record or very close to it.

During last month’s flooding, the Rock River at Latham Park reached a height of 11.5 feet, and back in February 2018 it reached a height of 12.8 feet.
