There’s no shortage of armed violence in the Stateline and that’s exactly what one Rockford church is trying to fight back against.
About two dozen members of the Jerusalem Baptist Church in northwest Rockford marched two miles while carrying an empty casket. Organizers say it’s empty because they don’t want to have to bury another person due to senseless violence.
Marchers stopped at seven street corners to sing songs and pray. Rockford Police served as an escort.
