Rockford Company Donates Fence to Teacher with ALS

News

A Loves Park teacher suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) received a surprise from a local fence company and his fellow co-workers.

Rock Valley Fence, with the helps of dozens of teachers, donated their time Saturday to install a brand new fence at Kris Grahnke’s home in Loves Park. They also helped put in new landscaping along with the fence. Kris says it’s support like this that has helped him stay positive in his fight against the debilitating disease.

“What ever I need at any time of day I’ve got a guy or a gal that is willing to jump right in and help give me whatever I need,” Grahnke said.

About 25 to 30 volunteers helped with the landscaping and yard clean up while Rock Valley installed his fence for free.
