The Rockford School Board approved $5.5 million in upgrades to an elementary school.

Construction is set to begin in June at Gregory Elementary School.  Officials say there will be five new classrooms, a new gym, a secure main entrance, and converting the old gym into a classroom and cafeteria.

The School Board awarded the contract to Stenstrom General.  Work is expected to be complete by the start of the 2017-18 school year.
