Rockford felon found guilty on weapons charges

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — 31-year-old Daniel Feliciano was found guilty of being an armed habitual criminal and being a felon in possession of a weapon in Winnebago County Court on Wednesday.

Rockford Police say officers were called to the 1100 block of Irving Avenue around 10 p.m. on April 23rd, 2017. Police say the report was that a man was seen with a gun. When officers arrived, they saw Feliciano standing outside a house there, and when they approached, he began to walk away. 

Police say they recovered a handgun along the path upon which he had been walking, and found ammunition on him.

Feliciano was convicted of Armed Habitual Criminal, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Obstructing Identification.

Felicano faces up to 30 years in prison and is due to be sentenced on June 28th.
