Rockford Fire brings house fire under control within minutes

The Rockford Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire early Sunday morning.

Firefighters arrived at 1336 Post Avenue around 1:38 a.m. and saw smoke coming from the third floor. Crews brought the fire under control within ten minutes.

Occupants of the home self-evacuated prior to the fire department’s arrival. One family pet was rescued.

The cause of the fire is considered accidental and electrical in origin. 

The estimated loss of the fire is around $15,000.
