Rockford Fire crews responded to a call for a house fire on the 2800 block of Collins Street around 10 p.m. Tuesday night.
Crews first on the scene reported heavy fire coming from the home, but they were able to bring the fire under control within 10 minutes.
Rockford Fire says the home is a vacant property, but declared it now uninhabitable, with the damaged assessed at $20,000.
No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
