Rockford Fugitive Wanted for Attempted Murder Captured in Memphis, TN

Rockford police are crediting a Crimestoppers tip for helping them track down a man wanted for attempted murder.

The shooting happened at around 3:30am on May 6th in the 700 block of Furman St.

Officers arrived to find 24-year-old Tevin Miller suffering from several gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen.  He was rushed to the hospital where he was treated and did recover.

After detectives conducted an investigation, a warrant was issued for Mason Warren for Attempted Murder and Aggravated Battery with a firearm.  Warren was already wanted on a warrant for Armed Robbery.

Friday morning, the Rockford Area Crime Stoppers office received a tip that Warren was in Memphis, TN.  Memphis police arrested him, and he is being held in Tennessee pending extradition.
