Rockford house hit by gunfire, man is arrested

Rockford, Ill. — On Sunday, May 26, 2019, shortly before 6:30 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to the 1400 block of Chestnut Street for a ShotSpotter alert.

Officers found out someone fired two rounds at a vehicle. The vehicle was not struck, but a residence was hit.

No one was hurt.

The man drove off in a gray car with two other men. Officers located the vehicle minutes later in a driveway of a home in the 400 block of South Hinkley Avenue.

All three people were taken into custody without incident.  
21-year-old Martayvon Boose is charged with two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm and no FOID card.

The other two men were released.
