Rockford Man Arrested After Initial South Beloit Investigation

A Rockford man is arrested in Rockford after an investigation that started in South Beloit.

Around ten Saturday morning, officials from the Rockford Police Department were called to a residence in the 2000 block of School Street to assist officials from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Police with an investigation.

They say a man inside was suicidal and armed with a handgun.

Officials from both agencies established a perimeter and were able to assist a woman and children exit the residence.

33-year old Jeremy McCristal was taken into custody after voluntarily coming out of the house.
 

McCristal is facing charges for the unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, and for having a handgun without a FOID card.

He has a prior $100,000 dollar warrant out for his arrest for aggravated domestic battery.
