Rockford man arrested after police receive tips from residents

Detectives from the Rockford Police Detective’s Narcotics Unit arrested a Rockford man after receiving tips from concerned residents. 

Over the past month, detectives received information from residents regarding possible drug sales around the 700 block of Gabriela Court.

Detectives identified Ricky Williams, 35, as the suspect and obtained a search warrant for his residence at 748 Gabriela Court. The search warrant was executed on the evening of May 15th. Officials found a semi-automatic rifle, a handgun, numerous pills and cash. 

During the investigation, Rockford detectives worked with Illinois State Police from districts 15 and 16 to conduct traffic stops on drivers involved in the sales and distribution of illegal drugs. Detectives seized over $150,000 from the traffic stops.

Williams faces Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Use of Weapons by a Felon charges.

He is held in the Winnebago County Jail.
