Rockford Man Arrested for More Than 10 Area Burglaries

A Rockford man is in custody, accused of being responsible for more than ten local residential burglaries.

Police were called to a home in the 3700 block of Hoisington Road on Monday regarding a home invasion in progress. When authorities arrived, they witnessed a suspect exit the house and drive off. Police pursued and the suspect eventually ditched his car and fled on foot.

He was taken into custody in the 2300 block of Green Street.

He has been identified as Preston Scott, 21, of Rockford. He’s charged with residential burglary, aggravated fleeing to elude and resisting arrest.

Detectives were able to clear ten Winnebago County residential burglary incidents and one City of Rockford burglary following the arrest.
