Rockford man charged with burglary to a local gambling business

36-year-old Michael Fryer, Jr. has been arrested by Rockford Police for allegedly burglarizing Flamingo Slots at 7521 Walton Street.

Police say they responded to a burglary alarm at the business shortly after 4 a.m. on Monday. There, they say a suspect had broken in and tried to steal money from the gambling machines, but police say the suspect fled without obtaining any money.

A short time later, police located a potential suspect, identified as Fryer, in the 3400 block of Latham Street. A follow up investigation allegedly linked Fryer to the crime.

He was arrested and charged with Burglary. Police believe Fryer may be linked to other area burglaries.

He is being held at the Winnebago County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
